Catching, Checking, and Changing - apply these for transforming negative self-talk into more positive and constructive internal dialogue. Here's how you can apply each step
Catching - bringing your awareness to when you talk negatively. Noticing when your inner critic is taking center stage. Practice mindfulness and journaling to uncover those negative thoughts and beliefs.
Checking - Once you've caught the thought, its time to check its validity. Is it realistic, is it logical or based on facts. Ask questions to challenge it.
Changing - After you have caught and checked your negative thought, now we can change it. Reframe the thought to something more positive, use affirmations to help you transform it and focus on what you can do to change it.
By consistently practicing the 3 C's of self-talk, you can cultivate a more positive and supportive internal dialogue, leading to improved emotional well-being and a more constructive approach to life's challenges.
